Making a Job Offer

Head Hunter Hints on from Gehl Search Partners

Employers and hiring managers, when you’re making a job offer to your future employee, please don’t just email over an offer letter.

Pick up the phone. Congratulate them. Be excited. Tell them a little bit more about why you’re excited to have them join your organization and your team.

Answer any questions they may have. And really let them know that you’re in it for the long run, just like they are.

You want to see them succeed and you’re gonna be there to ensure that they have their questions answered not only on the offer but showing them that you’re that type of individual moving forward.

Far too many times I’ve seen hiring managers or employers just email the letter over. And yes, of course we always need an offer letter in writing.

But when you don’t have a conversation around it, it’s showing that potential employee that, that’s how the business operates.

There’s no warmth, no culture. There’s just communication via email. Hey, look forward to hearing back from you.

So this really encourages a conversation and it builds the relationship between the future employee and manager.

Are you making a job offer?
